【war-related site】Machine Gun Bunker at Hisamatsu

At the foot of the gentle slope on the west side of the commemorative monument dedicated to honor the Five Brave Men of Hisamatsu is a machine gun bunker. The opening of the bunker is narrow, but the inside is spacious enough for one to stand and walk upright. There are two loopholes; one on the east side and another on the south side. The bunker utilizes a natural cave, but concrete is used to construct a table-like structure inside, as well as a protective blast wall. In the past, there was a shoreline to the west of the bunker that has now been reclaimed. It is believed that the Navy Guards used this bunker.
