【war-related site】Navy Communication Corps Bunker of Morikagoshi

Within the Morikagoshi Park remain three air vents from an underground bunker. The bunker has three connecting rooms ranging in size from 4.5 to 6 tatami mats (approximately 8-11m2). The interior of the bunker can’t be seen from outside as its openings were closed when the park facilities were constructed. This underground facility was used by the Japanese Navy’s Communication Corps, receiving Morse codes and conducting weather observations as required for aircraft landings and take-offs.
