【Prefecturally Designated:Historic Site】Sumurya Myaka Tomb
This is a large tomb belonging to the Sumurya (Nagama family) clan, located approximately 800m to the south of the Kurima settlement. In the long past, it was referred to as the Kurima Uputunu Myaka, and in the modern age, it is also called Gunso Myaka, and the tomb is said to have been used up until the Taisho period (1912-1926). It is rectangular in shape, approximately 9m east to west and 6.5m north to south, and 2.5m in height. The top part is covered with a slab of rock, approximately 3.5x3m in size. There are grooves in the stone column which suggest that there may have been a wooden structure on the upper portion.
From inside the tomb, there have been discoveries of celadon and other artifacts that date back to around the 14th to 15th centuries, highlighting the unique aspects of the Myaka tombs.
