Abu-ga No. 1 is in the forest east of Usubariabu, which is located about 400 m north of the midpoint of Farm Road 78 in Nagayama, south of Irabu Island. Its lot number on the cadaster is the same as that of Usubariabu. The cave is about 36 m deep, and there is a level area about 1.5 m wide and 2m long. The deepest point is 19 m below the spot. The wall of the cave mouth is formed by encroached rocks. There are two wells between the level area and the bottom. The area is dangerous as the breccia on the wall crumbling and rocks may fall.
Human bones that presumably belonged to same individuals can be observed on the site; and some of them in a complete manner. Breastbones, hipbones, ribs, shoulder bones, arm bones, leg and foot bones, etc. have been discovered from the site as well as bones of animals.
