【Remains】Minuzuma Remains

The Minuzuma Remain is situated on small hills about 5 to 15 meters in altitude facing the Yonaha Bay. For land consolidation projects of the surrounding area, approximately 36,000m2 of the area went under excavation survey between 2012 and 2013. The excavation unearthed remains of dug-standing pillar buildings consisting of 4 pillars and 6 pillars from the 11th and 12th centuries and a set of human bones from a burial site. Also, several sets of human bones from the 13th to 15th centuries and farming grains such as millet, barley, wheat and rice from remains of firepits have been discovered. Furthermore, a great number of Chinese earthenware, which were brought in from outside, were discovered evidencing that this site was once a settlement where people lived for a long period of time.
