【Designated by the City:Ancient Document】Family Tree of the Kawamitsu Family

Family Tree of the Kawamitsu Family

The Kawamitsu Family is a lineage originating with Kawamitsu Uputunu and those whose first names start with the letter “真” (Sincerity). The Family Tree is kept by his descendants, the Matsumura Family in the Sugama Settlement.
The document records the names of those from the 1st to 12th generations, dates of births and deaths, and their official positions in various writing styles including Kaisho, Sosho, and Seisho. Different handwriting in some parts intriguingly indicates either that different people in different generations edited the document, or that each generation wrote the information themselves. The appearance of official titles such as Pechin, Mezasu, and Yunchu and female Oamo in the document shows that Uputunu’s descendants steadily assumed important positions, making the document a precious one.
*Oamo: a senior priestess in the Oamushirare central priestess structure of Ryukyu Kingdom including Mihira. The family assumed head of Uruka three times during the generations of ???, ???, and ???.
