【war-related site】Machine Gun Bunker at Miyako Nanseien

At the cliffs by the beach near the boat yard ramp on the northern side of the National Sanitarium Miyako Nanseien for Hansen’s disease is a U-shaped bunker. It was expected that the U.S. Forces would land at this stretch of the eastern coast, and so heavy artillery were set here to prevent their landing. It is believed that this bunker was constructed by the Rapid Fire Company of the 30th Infantry Regiment.
