【Designated by the City:Historic Site】Dakifu-ga

Dakifu-ga

Dakifu-ga is a well, located by the Yasurugi on Irabu Island, with the site area of 39 m2. It is in a flattened trapezoid shape with the side length of 6.2 m, 3.3 m, 5 m, and 3.3 m respectively. The well was located in the middle of a Dakifu (a kind of bamboo) colony which once grew in the surrounding area. Because of this, it was presumably named “Dakifu-ga.”
The structure is round-shaped with a diameter of 2.3 m and deep-bored with a depth of 2.5 m, and the surrounding wall is stone-piled. It is considered to have been dug during the Ufuya era between 1500 and 1700, before the villages of Irabu and Nakachi were divided.
